Do you keep lists? I do, although I’m not sure where all of them are 🙂
One thing I used to be really good about was writing a grocery list. Every week I would plan our meals, write down what we needed under special headings (Dairy, Meat, Produce, Frozen, etc) and then do my shopping.
Sometimes I forgot things, but most of the time it worked out OK.
When my husband got laid off (he went back to work today after 7 months YAY!), I started shopping at Aldi’s. I cut my grocery bill from $200 to $125. And since Aldi’s is so small, I stopped writing a list. I just pretty much bought the same stuff week after week. I still forgot things and we all got really tired of eating hamburger and chicken over and over.
Anyway, for those of us with ADHD, lists are good things if:
We can find them
They aren’t a mile long
We actually use them
After all, we’re good at forgetting and who couldn’t use a little more organization? I’m still looking for someone who can go inside my brain and organize that.
In the meantime, I found this cool little site called List Planit. It’s owned by “List Mama” which tells me that it’s a work from home mom, and I love to support moms in all they do.
Right now you can get a free one week trial and if you like it, a subscription is only $20 a year for just printing or $30 a year if you want to download files.
List Mama also has a blog, so you can check that out for free.
Hey what would happen if we all popped over to List Planit and became super organized ADDers? I bet we could rule the world!
OK, maybe not, but maybe we could find a few things now and then….
