Take a Minute

Actually, take more than a minute. How about 30? Could you spare 30 minutes a day for yourself? You need to find a way.

Have you ever felt like you’re being bombarded on all sides from just too much stuff? You have a million things to do, your kids, your spouse, your boss wants/needs you to do something for them, and you got up feeling like you were already behind.

Those are the days when your ADHD symptoms will really kick in.

Our minds go in a thousand directions at once. When your life outside your head starts mirroring what’s going on in your head, stress, chaos and overwhelm are sure to follow.

There is a way, though, for you to get ahead of the game and prepare yourself for the day ahead.

Take some time for yourself.

That’s it. Really. Take some time for yourself every day, preferably at the beginning of the day. The end of the day works, too, as long as you don’t wait until you’re dead tired.

Taking 30 minutes a day for yourself allows you to have some quiet, peaceful time. Time to let your mind wander or rest. Time to gather your thoughts and see what’s ahead for that day. Time to prepare.

When you jump out of bed in the morning and rush around like a crazy person trying to get out the door on time, you’ve already set yourself up for feeling stressed and out of control.

But when you start the day in a peaceful manner, taking time to see what’s in store for you, it puts you in control. You start the day from a very different place.

Isn’t less stress and feeling more in control of your life worth 30 minutes a day? Aren’t you?
