31 Day Challenge: Day 13

A simple life.

Am I wrong or is that something that we all long for?

I know that I do.

But how exactly do we turn our crazy lives into something simpler?

I think that living a simpler life starts with one thing: less.

less

We all have too much stuff.

My grandson Robbie is 2 and even he has too much stuff.

Lately I have been looking around my home and feeling dissatisfied with what I see because what I see is too much. Excess.

And I think that those of us with ADHD can relate to that. Not that we are the only ones who accumulate too much stuff; I think it’s a fairly universal problem, at least in this country.

When you pare down your possessions to those that you use and need, life opens up. Your time opens up because you are spending less of it cleaning, organizing, and keeping track of stuff.

So where do you draw the line?

I think that’s a personal decision.

No one is asking you to live like a monk if you don’t want to. Actually no one should ask you to live any way other than the way that you choose, assuming of course that your choice is a reasonable one.

Take a look around right where you are.

Do you see things that you could easily live without?

Why not do something about it right now?
