The Secret Life of ADHD

Jump to:

Do you keep secrets? I don’t mean the kind other people tell you; I mean the ones you try to keep people from finding out about you.

I think everyone has a secret or two, but I think that people with Attention Deficit Disorder have more than most. That’s because we spend our lives trying to pretend that we’re “normal” just like everybody else.

Well, first of all, nobody’s “normal”. And secondly, “deficits” are accompanied by some pretty cool advantages: creativity, imagination, and the ability to see things in a different way (which can lead to all kinds of wonderful things). We’re also masters at multi-tasking and yet we can concentrate on something we’re interested in to the exclusion of everything else.

Don’t be ashamed of who you are. Don’t try to hide so much. Let the world see you, ADD and all, and show them what a cool and wonderful person you are.
