Love Who You Are

Jump to:

A lot of people, especially women, I think, feel bad about themselves because they have ADHD. They see themselves as not good enough, not measuring up to what they think they should be.

Low self esteem and ADHD seem to happen together to a lot of ADDers. It starts when you’re a kid and in school and I think it gets worse when you become an adult and a parent. Managing a household, the kids, maybe a job, and so much more is hard, especially when you have ADHD. (Listen to my experience here.)

The whole idea of being who you are and loving who you are has been on my mind a lot lately, along with the idea that we deserve to live a life that we truly love. Seriously, what are we waiting for? Are you living the life of your dreams or getting through the days?

I don’t have any answers or solutions for you right now, but I will. I have to believe that these two things have been in my mind for months for a reason.

In the meantime, I want to share the two things that started me down this path and inspired me.

Joyce Meyer is a Christian speaker; I think of her as a motivational speaker. Whether or not you’re Christian, please take the time to watch this video (it’s at the end of this post). Joyce has some important things to say to you and the religious context is minimal. (Don’t want to exclude or offend anyone here.)

The other thing that got me to thinking is this post from Remarkable Communication. I know I’ve shared this before with some of you, but it’s worth another read.

I’d love to hear your thoughts.
