How Sunday Can Equal Sanity

I am writing this on Sunday evening.

OK. I lied. It’s almost 11:00pm Sunday night.

Still, the idea that I’m about to suggest is a good one. And I promise, I did do the actual part this afternoon.

It’s called the Sunday Night Plan. And I call it that even though you can do it in the afternoon or 11:00 pm. I think after dinner works best, but do what’s best for you.

Sundaynightplan

Here’s how it works.

Set aside 15-30 minutes sometime on Sunday to go over the coming week.

Get your planner out, and a pen, and maybe something nice to drink. I like iced tea with lemon. And yes I hear you Southerners calling me a Yankee, but I’m a little bit of both so there.

Go over your week and see what’s coming up. Anything new or different? Now is the time to find out that you need 8,000 cupcakes or that 4700 page report by Tuesday. Not Tuesday morning.

You might even want to think about doing the Sunday Night Plan (gasp) another day. For instance, if you’ve got a hectic week coming up like I do, it might be wise to make simple, quick dinner plans. So you might want to do your Sunday Night Plan on the night before you do your grocery shopping.

Or you could be really, really smart and check your week ahead on whatever the night is before grocery shopping and then do your Sunday Night Plan.

The Sunday Night Plan is perfect for us because it prepares us for what is ahead. We can plan ahead and be prepared.

Imagine how awesome it would be to be able to be prepared a whole week in advance. To not be surprised by that dentist appointment at 7:00 am or to look super cool because you knew that Thursday was going to be an absolutely awful day and you had the foresight to have things under control.

The Sunday Night Plan lets you do this.

It’s very simple.

You check your planner and see what’s coming up. And then you get ready for it. Ahead of time. Genius.

That’s what you are. Genius. Cause you use the Sunday Night Plan.
