Knowing How Your Mind Works

Jump to:

Yesterday my son had surgery. About 10 days ago he tripped and fell and broke 3 bones in his face. Ouch! Now he’s got a metal plate in his face with screws holding him together.

When we got back from the hospital, there were a number of prescriptions for him to take.

Now if it had been me, I would have taken everything right away and then figured out the next dosage time for each from there.

Not my ADD boy. He figured out a time table he could remember and then took his medication accordingly. So, for instance, the pill he takes every 4 hours is on an 8-12-4 schedule.

This concept is not something that would have ever occurred to me, but I guess that’s the way he thinks.

I just think it’s cool that he’s come up with these kinds of strategies to help him out when he needs it.
