Operation Beautiful

Do you know how beautiful you are?

Caitlin Boyle does.

Caitlin Boyle is the catalyst behind Operation Beautiful.

Operation Beautiful is the title of Caitlin’s book and the name of her website.

But it’s so much more.

Operation Beautiful is a movement; a positive, wonderful, inspiring movement that every female in the world needs to know about.

Caitlin’s tagline on her book says it all: “Transforming the Way You See Yourself One Post-it Note at a Time”.

Like a lot of us (ADD women especially), Caitlin went through a long period in her life thinking she wasn’t enough. Not thin enough, not healthy enough, not you-fill-in-the-blank enough.

Thanks to a good friend, Caitlin learned to start treating herself better. I love this quote:

After years of beating myself up, I couldn’t believe that the answer to a happier, healthier life was so simple. All I needed to do was treat myself with kindness, love, and patience.

Kindness, love, and patience.

How would your life change if you started to treat yourself as well as you do others?

Once Caitlin realized how much this simple thing had changed her life, she wanted to share it with others. She started with a piece of scrap paper stuck to a mirror in a public restroom. The paper said “You are beautiful!”.

She posted a picture of the note on her website and urged other women to do the same, and Operation Beautiful was born.

Today women from around the world have adopted Caitlin’s idea and spread a little more kindness in the world. It has changed lives. I especially like the fact that so many young girls have gotten caught up in Operation Beautiful. We need to teach our daughters that they are beautiful just as they are.

Caitlin’s book, Operation Beautiful, is full of inspiring stories from real women as well as tons of tips on living a healthful, happy life.

One of my favorite parts of the book is all the pictures of the notes that women have posted. I love reading what they say and seeing where they chose to put them: in make up aisles, on diet products, on scales at the gym, even on a Stop sign!

Caitlin’s book is available at most bookstores. Check out her site when you get a chance and think about buying her book. I guarantee – it will be one of the most positive things you do all year – for yourself and maybe others, too.
