You’ve Got to Move It, Move It

Yesterday my husband Mark taught me a valuable lesson. (Shhh….don’t tell him I said so.)

Yesterday Mark had a vacation day and even though it was his vacation, he was gone a good part of the day. He got some work done on the car, ran some errands, and mowed the lawn. He even grilled dinner.

He was moving all day long.

Now I do my share around here, but I do a lot of sitting, too. I’m sitting right now as I write this, but I consider this to be worthy of my time.

What I don’t consider to be as worthy is the amount of time I spend on Facebook, or playing solitaire, or waiting until I’m in the mood to clean something.

That whole waiting til you’re in the mood for something? Totally ADD. And let’s face it, when will you ever be in the mood to scrub the toilet?

So yesterday (cause I was feeling a little guilty), I tried to follow Mark’s example (even though he didn’t know he was being one).

And I moved it, moved it.

Every time I sat down, or thought about it, I looked for something to do instead.

And I got a lot done.

Yesterday was one of my most productive days in a long time.

I was even productive when I was sitting down, cause I made a series of doctor appointments I had been putting off for six months.

It feels good to get stuff done and be productive. And it’s even carried over to today, even though Mark is at work and I’m home alone.

Give it a try. Put on some groovin’ music (I’ve already got you started) and start moving, moving.

What can you get done today?
