Do You FLY?

Have you heard about Flylady?

Flylady is “Your personal online coach to help you gain control of your house and home.”

Flylady has a proven system that helps people who suffer from “CHAOS” – “can’t have anyone over syndrome”.

I think that in many ways, the Flylady system is ADHD friendly. The system is set up for you; all you have to do is follow it. And she does address many problems that we ADD Moms face – the amount of clutter we have laying around, the stuff we forget to do. She really is amazing when you realize how much she covers.

Flylady’s system tackles a zone of your home each week so that everything gets taken care of on a regular basis. She sends out emails (a lot of emails!) several times a day telling you what to do.

Some will say to do a quick 15 minute pick up or to drink a glass of water. Flaylady takes care of you as well as your home.

I have tried Flylady’s system before – several times, in fact.

It worked for me once, but most times I just felt overwhelmed by her emails. I felt like I should spend all day checking my email in case I missed something.

If you can take it slowly (Flylady calls it baby steps), and don’t get overwhelmed by the sheer amount of information, it can work for you. People who can work Flylady’s system effectively are extremely organized; she thinks of things most others don’t.

Oh – Flylady is really Marla Cilley – she got her name because she loves fly fishing. When her Flylady site took off years ago, she made FLY into an acronym – Finally Loving Yourself.

If you can keep up with her, she can really make a difference in your life. Check it out.

  1. I have been a member of flylady almost 10 years. I am so much better off. I have many struggles to overcome. I jump in and out with her but have a few habits that have stuck and really need to get back in again. The calendar has been imperative. My whole family uses it. It would be major CHAOS without it.
