The Ultimate Solution for Getting Things Done

Jump to:

Have you heard about DropTask? I just found out about it from Pinterest and I think that this might be the ultimate solution for getting things done. Especially when you have ADHD.

The genius of DropTask is that it is a visual way of looking at your to dos and prioritizing them.

You know that it’s hard for us to prioritize and that we tend to overestimate how much we can get done. You should also know that we ADD Moms are visually oriented. We need to see things in pictures or graphs in order to understand it. DropTask does that for us.

Here is a shot of what your “to do list” would look like:

DropTask multiplatform

All images are from the DropTask site.

The bigger circles are groups or projects, like redecorating your bedroom or organizing your desk.

The smaller circles inside are the individual things that you have to do to get the project done. So for your bedroom, it might say “paint walls”, “buy new bedspread”, and “get new sheets”.

You can set priorities on each task or assign it a due date. And there are lots of pretty colors for you to use so you can color code your projects.

I store a lot of my coaching related things in folders in Google Drive; stuff like new programs and products I am developing. I color code my folders there and then I can use the same color in DropTask to make it easier to see which tasks are related to which program.

Oh, and here’s a really cool feature just for us: you can use filters so that you see only certain tasks. For instance, you can choose to see which ones are high priority or due soon. All of the rest will be minimized so that you can see a little dot, but not what the actual task is. Instant focus!

You can also view things in list form or by date if you want.

If you have things that you want to share with others – collaborating on a project, for instance – DropTask lets you do that. If you need to work with more than one other person, though, you have to get the Pro version, which is $6.50 a month. Otherwise, DropTask is free.

There are a lot more features available, such as syncing to your Google calendar, sub tasks, and reminders. Most of these are in the Pro version only.

Since DropTask is an online site, anyone can use it. However, if you want integration on your phone or tablet, it is only available for iPhone and iPad users.

I think that DropTask is worth a look and a try. After all, if it helps us get stuff done, it’s worth a try. You might even find out that it is the ultimate solution for you. 😉
