Support for ADHD

Jump to:

Sometimes having ADHD is hard. Not always – sometimes I think it’s pretty cool.

Still there are times when you wish you had someone who understands- who gets you. In my house, that’s everybody, but you might not be so lucky.

Sometimes we find ourselves with ADHD friends. They can be a good source of support when you need it because they know how you experience life.

There are other sources of support out there if you look.

You might consider finding a therapist if you’re really struggling with depression or anxiety due to your ADHD.

If your problem is related to a lack of organization, you might want to invest in a professional organizer. I have hired one twice and never regretted it. You don’t have to hire them for an ongoing thing. Sometimes all you need is some direction and motivation and they can help with that.

If you want to find a professional organizer in your area, check out the National Association of Professional Organizers.

The Attention Deficit Disorder Association is a good place to find a local group for support with your ADHD.

And if you would like to join in conversations online with ADDers, check out the ADD Forums. You’ll find me there as ADD Moms.

And you know, if you ever have a question, you can always email me at brenda at ADD Moms dot com. Or check out the links to my Facebook and Twitter accounts on the side bar.
