Why YOU Are Important

Jump to:

Do I really even need to write this post? Do you really need someone to tell you how important you are?

Based on the way you (don’t) take care of yourself, maybe I do.

I know.

As women we are taught to be nice and polite. Be a good girl. Share with others and never take the last anything.

When we become mothers – or even if we never do – we consistently put ourselves last.

Everyone eats before you do.

Extra money gets spent on everyone but you. When was the last time you bought new clothes for your kids? And when was the last time you bought yourself something new to wear?

Do you really think that you were placed on this earth just to serve others?

And even if you do – there are lots of people who give their lives in service of one kind or another – but that doesn’t mean that you don’t take care of yourself as well.

You know that things like a good diet, exercise and enough sleep help you manage your ADHD symptoms more effectively.

But do you actually do that?

You have people in your life that you take care of in one way or another. It may be children, siblings, or your parents. Maybe it’s your friends or even the people you work for or with.

You do it out of love. You give out of love.

It’s time to love yourself.

Imagine how much more you could do in your life if you felt really good.

You were well rested, felt good about your body and the way you look. You took care of your hair and your face and wore nice outfits that made you feel attractive.

If you could do that in your life, your entire life would change for the better.

And you know what?

So would the lives of all of those people whose life you touch every day.

So if you won’t do it for yourself, won’t you do it for them?
