ADD Ramblings

Jump to:

This morning about 10 am I sat down to write today’s post. It is now almost 8 pm and I am just getting to it.

This is classic ADD behavior.

It started when I read an email from my friend Rory Stern about the dangers of isolation when you have ADHD or are the parent of an ADHD child. You can read what Rory has to say by following the link.

I agree with Rory’s ideas and think that its important that we as a community find a way to reach out and communicate with one another. It helps so much when you have someone that understands.

OK. Great idea. How about a forum for ADD Moms? What a great idea!

Don’t bother looking for it. It’s not there.

I have spent hours today looking for a forum that I can add to this site. I have added and deleted several because they didn’t work.

And that’s what caught most of my attention today – instead of writing my post.

Don’t get me wrong – I was productive today. I did 3 loads of laundry and made dinner.

I also spent several hours online looking for hardwood floor deals and washers and dryers – all upcoming purchases.

As I said, this is classic ADHD behavior – just kinda bouncing from here to there – whatever catches your interest.

It’s frustrating, isn’t it?

But you know what? Sometimes you just have to concede the battle for the day and let the mind ramble where it will.

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

  1. This is the story of my everyday life! I so totally get it. Hope you do find something for a forum tho, that would be great. I have no idea how to do that, but if I come across any info that looks good I will let you know.
