I have to say that sometimes these posts are meant more for me than for you. Or maybe what I really mean is that I recognize something in myself that needs some attention and I think maybe you do too.
As I write this, I am wearing jeans and a t shirt, no make-up and no shoes. My hair is clean and brushed but that’s all.
For a long time I have been overweight. I am losing now but still wearing many of the baggy, shapeless things I wore when I was heavier.
I used to be pretty good at putting on make-up but since I’ve gotten older it seems I’m not so good at it anymore. I don’t want to look like one of those women who’s still doing her hair and make-up like she did in high school.

Can you relate to any of this? Please tell me that you can.
In an effort to both educate and inspire us, I’ve found a few resources to help us look our best. Here they are:
What Not to Wear is one of my favorite shows. It’s like a Cinderella story to me and you can really learn a lot from watching it. Plus you can drool over the $5,000 budget the makeover person gets to spend on herself.
Carmindy is the make-up artist on the show and she does something she calls a 5 minute face. Here’s a video showing you how.

Looking your best is about taking care of you and making you feel better about yourself. It also sends a message to others about how you think of yourself and how they should treat you.
Throw out those old shoes and stained shirts. Wear some jeans that fit. Get a good haircut and stop wearing sweats in public.
Take better care of you.
