Motivated Moms

ADD Moms can have a hard time getting it all done. We can also have a hard time remembering what it is we need to do.

Things like appointments and outside activities get put on the calendar (we hope). But it’s the daily things like housework that sometimes get away from us.

There are a lot of systems out there for getting housework done and really what you have to end up doing is trying them until you find one that works for you.

I know that some of you like lists on paper and others prefer something technology based. I’m a fan of both, actually.

Yesterday I found a site called Motivated Moms and I think that they might have one of the best solutions out there for all of us.

Motivated Moms is a simple site put together by two friends, Deann Polanco, who still runs the site, and Janet Russell, who has gone on to other interests.

Basically what they put together was a chore planning system designed to get the house clean and organized as quickly as possible while still leaving time for more pleasant pursuits.

The chore planner covers each day of the year (!) with specific tasks to do each day. That way, even seasonal chores are taken into account.

Motivated Moms offers their chore list in a couple of formats: right now you can get the entire year’s planner in your choice of sizes for $4 (a great deal!) or you can get the same planner on your iPod for $4.99. There is also a free 2 week trial for iPod. The prices reflect the fact that it is August and so most of the calendar is not useful.

I downloaded the free app for my iPod and I have to say I am impressed and slightly overwhelmed.

Deann mentions on her site that the list is not intended to be guilt inducing, but I have to say it is extremely comprehensive.

Today, for instance, the chore list includes things like washing the dishes and cleaning the bathroom sink, but it also reminds you it’s time to cut your kids fingernails!

Maybe Deann knows us better than we think.

I think Motivated Moms chore list is worth checking out, and for the price, you really can’t go wrong.
