I think group coaching would be good as it would help me to talk with others who are ADD and how they deal with it rather than thinking I’m just dumb, lazy or have a mental problem. The reality of what others feel and learning ways to conquer the issues would help me tremendously. I feel alone, frustrated and overwhelmed and don’t know where to turn. So I just don’t!
I’m a divorced mother of a 7 year old with shared custody and am pregnant and due in September. My life is chaotic. I have a very difficult time managing money, time and clutter. I can clean and everything is in it’s place and within 48 hours it is back like before. I have a shopping problem with clothes, jewelry and shoes. I was married to an abusive husband and my ADD issues only made things worse, especially the money issues. Everytime I get an income tax refund or any lump of money I think of saving it but then the next thing I know I am in the mall shopping and then the guilt comes. Then the family is upset because they don’t understand where the money went. I’m the queen of take back but I still cannot save any money or even pay my own bills on time. I have creditors calling and my small child support and part-time job do not provide much income. We are living with my parents and Lord knows if I’ll ever be able to have my own place. I need help but don’t know where to turn. My mom constantly tells me I need to go to counseling and get some help, but I don’t like labels and that is what it feels like to me. I don’t want my daughters to grow up hindered because of my shortcomings. But I know they will if things don’t get better soon. My ex-husband is a neat freak and I am a messy and our seven year old has to go back and forth into two dramaticlly different worlds. just want my world to be normal!
