No, I don’t mean the holidays, although they are approaching quickly.
I mean cold and flu season.
Right now my son and my husband are both feeling under the weather. I’m doing what I can to stay well.
Nobody ever wants to get sick, but when there are so many people around – and we’re all at the mall shopping at the same time – germs have a chance to spread.
Being sick puts you at a disadvantage; your ADHD symptoms are going to be worse, especially if you’re taking certain medications like cold medicine.
Your brain is going to be foggy and you will be less able to pay attention. Another good reason to stay home when you’re sick.
The best remedy for a cold or flu is not to get it in the first place. Here are a few reminders about taking extra special care of yourself right now:
Wash your hands more often and use hand sanitizer when you can’t
If you work in a public place, get some disinfectant wipes and wipe the surfaces down at least once a day
Be more careful about getting enough sleep and eating healthy food
Up your Vitamin C & D
Stay out of crowded spaces as much as possible
Do everything you can not to get sick. And if you do anyway, do everything you can to get well.

While I’m on immunosuppressants, I get sick a lot. Thankfully, it’s things like ear and sinus infections that can be treated with antibiotics. But it is tiresome to be constantly dealing with an infection and having to keep away from crowds in fear of getting sick.
